滬門是「
滬房」的心型構造開口處，是弧形尾部兩端往內勾所延伸出來的兩道石堤，在退潮時，會配合水流營造出水壓，將洄游的魚群導入「
滬房」之中，並讓進入「
滬房」的魚群無法輕易抵抗潮流游出「
滬房」，因此，
滬門的開口方向必定要朝著當地退潮水流的方向。

滬房的入水溝口，七美人稱此部份為「滬螺」，
滬門開口寬度約在1米以上。

The gate is formed with two inside curves extending from the arcs of the heart-shaped pool and locates at its opening. As soon as the tide ebbs, the gate will conduce to making water pressure when the current passing, in order to guide the migratory fish into the pool and make them unable to swim out of the pool easily. Therefore, the opening direction of the gate has to always face the same direction of the ebb.
